After New Orleans, I started working on the next two cities on my list, Kansas City and Nashville. Below are some images of the final screen prints and be sure to check them out on my Etsy page if you want to make a purchase!

My DIY Sunday
Yesterday in Downtown Dallas at the new Main Street Garden Park, they had the first Homegrown Music and Art Festival. I didn’t go, but my apartment is so close, I went and hung out by the pool and could hear all the bands perfectly. I woke up this morning and took my dog Bailey to the park. Shiner Beer was a sponsor and I noticed a pretty cool banner that was left in the middle in the grass. I looked around and there were a few more and I saw some that had been blown into the bushes so I considered them trash and took one. I bought two 20×20 frames at a sale over Christmas and knew this banner would be perfect in them.
Cafe Momentum
A few months back at work we were asked to come up with some logo ideas for Cafe Momentum. The cafe is a place that gives those less fortunate a second chance much like Reconcile in New Orleans. These were some of the more refined ideas I was working on.
Canvas Prints on Etsy
Along with my City&Music screen prints, I will be producing the same series as 8.5×11 Canvas Prints. These are printed on Ivory Canvas Cloth and give the print a really awesome texture. Check out the photos and be sure to make a purchase at my Etsy page!
Dorothy’s Not The Only Thing From Kansas
The second piece of my city&music prints is another instrument you can find primarily in jazz, the trumpet. The image is a digital version of the second print. I hope to get everything ready this weekend for screenprinting and hope to have both the New Orleans and Kansas City print on my ETSY page for purchase as soon as possilbe.
Below is a little information I found while researching for inspiration:
Kansas City jazz is a style of jazz that developed in the surrounding Kansas City Metropolitan Area during the 1930s and marked the transition from the structured big band style to the musical improvisation style of Bebop. Buck Clayton was an American jazz trumpet player, fondly remembered for being a leading member of Count Basie’s ‘Old Testament’ orchestra and leader of mainstream-oriented jam session recordings in the 1950s. It’s been said that Clayton “synthesized much of the history of jazz trumpet in his own time, with a bright brassy tone and an apparently limitless facility for melodic improvisation”.
FrontRunner Bulldogs
FrontRunner Bulldogs was my latest freelance client. The two partners show and breed champion AKC pedigree English Bulldogs. They wanted to create a website where they could show the Sire and Dam’s bloodlines and also post pictures of the puppies when available. The client wanted to be able to update and manage the content, so I set up certain sections of the site to be powered by WordPress. With the site, I also delivered business cards (seen below).
