Jazz It Up
Below is the start of a new screen print series I’m creating over the Summer. Each city I choose will feature a musical instrument that represents that city’s musical culture. First is a New Orleans print that shows a saxophone representing its strong Jazz influence. Prints will be available to purchase soon on my Etsy page.
Visual Armory
There’s something that excites me when I see handmade elements in graphic design and this identity set for Andy Luce does not disappoint!
I think with the ease of computers and technology, designers rush to start a design project by jumping straight on the computer. When this happens, you risk the chance of your design looking “manufactured.” If Andy would have done this while starting his brand work for Visual Armory, I don’t think the end result would have been as nice and refreshing. The hand drawn lettering would have never been created and the texture from the rubber stamp effect would be nonexistent. It would lack personality and feel stale.
Below are a few samples of his work on Visual Armory. You can find more here.
Happy Earth Day
Happy Earth Day! Being in a creative industry, I always try to reuse products in different ways then they were intended. I received this project from Toms Shoes today on how to turn the top band of your old Toms into a bracelet. They feature other projects on how to make drink coasters, plant hangers and even a soccer ball made out of insoles! Check all the projects out here.
